Road transport ladle

Metal founders use even more different alloys. In this particular context the refiner delivers molten aluminium by transport ladle to our customer. The possibility to maintain aluminium in molten stage in the transport ladles would avoid the use of a holding furnace for each type of alloy.

Constraints :

■ Sufficient heat input to maintain 4 aluminium tons at 750° C.

■ Design of a global solution (heating element and electric board) meeting both dimensional and use constraints of the ladle :

tipping up, maintenance.

■ Variation of bath level at each tipping up.

Development of the study :

■ Calculation of the required power

■ Choice of the heating element adapted to the constraints of the

changing bath level and of the tipping up

■ Design of the heater, mechanical design for its integration into

the ladle

■ Definition of the specifications regarding the electric board

aimed at piloting automatically the immersion heater versus its

internal temperature.
