Heat pipes are closed containers having a very high thermal conductivity thanks to the use of evaporation and condensation phenomena of the internal fluid. Conductivity of a copper heat pipe filled in with water is 20 to 50 times superior to that of a copper tube filled in with the equivalent volume. Heat pipes have the ability to transfer high thermal flows with a low temperature gap. ■ Power transmitted up to 1000 W ■ Thermal resistance inferior to 65 °C/kW. ■ Different shapes : cylindrical, flat or curved. ■ Passive element.
