In its development frame, Montupet foundry decided to fit out its workshop with a new 10 tons capacity holding furnace for its breech production. Constraints : ■ Required high quality metal ■ Quick temperature rise ■ +/- 5°C temperature accuracy Due to these constraints, they chose a heating solution based on immersion heaters. The furnace is equipped with 6 heaters diameter 80mm having a 20 kW power in order to hold aluminium at 720° C. A thermocouple enables to pilot the immersion heaters according to bath temperature via a control board. Gain for the customer : Montupet foundry is now particularly satisfied with the obtained metal quality and the fact that there is no more corundum. The whole equipment (furnace/electric board/ heaters) has been installed by Dross Engineering company. |
